Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation Sets New Attendance and Donation Records at 2018 Black Tie Tailgate

Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation Raises A Record $610,000 for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia via 2018 Black Tie Tailgate

East Norriton, Pa., August 31, 2018 – The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Philadelphia Auto Show, announces its donation of $610,000 to the Department of Nursing at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The donation is a result of record-setting ticket sales to the 2018 Black Tie Tailgate and other fundraising initiatives led by the Foundation.

“We are extremely proud to announce our record-setting donation to CHOP,” said Kevin Mazzucola, executive director of the Foundation. “Just like how the Hospital never ceases to strive for excellence, neither do we. To reinforce our Foundation’s mission and continue to demonstrate how we are More Than Auto Dealers, we made it a top priority to have our most successful Black Tie Tailgate to date. We are honored to say that we have successfully accomplished our goal.”

The annual Black Tie Tailgate, a premiere, elegant preview party of the Philadelphia Auto Show, offers guests a night of dining and dancing as well as a sneak peek at the event’s display floor. This year, more than 5,000 people, a record-setting number of guests, attended the charitable gala.

The event proceeds will benefit the Department of Nursing at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and its patient/family education initiatives, including the hiring of additional nurse educators and development of resources to innovate and expand patient and family education across the entire Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Care Network.

The 2019 Black Tie Tailgate is set for Friday, February 1. More details to be announced soon.
